Community

We believe that we can make a difference every day in each other’s lives as well as in our community, both local and worldwide. We do this by creating an extraordinary experience through the preparation of outstanding coffee, other practices and products.

We pledge to source locally. Feast Down East is an initiative established to create a fully integrated local food system. They help small and limited resource farmers gain access to markets such as restaurants, grocers, schools, coffeehouses and hospitals, which means they shorten the distance between the farm and your fork.

COMPOSTING
Instead of tossing our grounds, we put them to good use.  We provide local farmers buckets of soil-enriching coffee grounds.

RECYCLING
In an effort to reduce landfill waste, we encourage customers to bring in reusable cups when buying a beverage.  Customers who bring in their own mug or cup, get a discount on their drink.  Customers enjoying their beverage in-house can request that it be served in one of our original coffee mugs made by local potter Elaine Klapproth.

COFFEE FOR A CAUSE
Support the Arts with every sip!  With every bag you purchase, a portion of the sales is donated to the Pender Arts Council.

ANIMAL RESCUE
We are committed to animal rescue and adoption which is why the entire proceeds from the sale of our Doggie Bandanas go directly to Monty's Home, a non-profit organization sponsoring pet education, pet loss, grief support and canine rescue.

MEALS ON WHEELS
We proudly support and participate in Pender Adult Services Annual Silent Auction & Gala.  Proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels, a program that delivers meals to individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals.
